Help me build a CHEAP media PC? :)
Post Body

If anyone of you are bored out there, I'd like to put together something uber cheap. The pc ought to be powerful enough to rip dvds and play an xvid/mpeg4/whatever-the-latest-tech is at the same time. Nothing much more powerful than this. It will be mainly used for playing back movies and emulators -- I suspect PS2 might be the highest-end emulator desired. I need super-fast network connectivity and a video card that can out hdmi 1080p (ideally, even though it won't be used right away). Lots of storage is important, but I suspect cpu and ram not so much. I would like room for expansion of hard drive space. SATA3 is the latest, right? Gigabit LAN or wireless G. Everything should have Linux support. I'd like to eventually expand the hard drive storage, 3-5TB in the long run, starting around 1TB or whatever is cheap. I'd like to get a wireless USB and 4 wireless PS3/360-like joysticks. I'll write the software and go with Linux, so that doesn't need to be part of the price. And if anyone knows anything useful, I wouldn't mind a remote control device (preferably NOT infrared, radio would be awesome). Anyone know something like that that's programmable and works in Linux?

I've got zero parts, just moved into a new place, so I'm starting from scratch.

If I think of any other requirements, I'll update here.

Thanks to anyone who can help :)

EDIT: I through together something in 10 minutes. The quality might show. Suggestions welcome
