Update: In the end I will be shelving the retirement age PSU, swapping into a 2070 Super, OC the CPU, call it a day. Thanks for all the help everybody!
Current system:
- Intel Core i5-8600K 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
- Gigabyte Z370 HD3P (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
- Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB OC Video Card
- Cooler Master HAF X ATX Full Tower Case
- Corsair TXM Gold 850 W 80 Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (8 Years Old)
Planned new build:
- Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
- Asus PRIME Z390-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
- MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card
- Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case
- EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750 W 80 Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
I thought it was a no brainer full on upgrade but after looking at bench marks and doing some comparisons it seems like I would be better off just getting a new video card and calling it a day.
Any advice/opinions on it welcome, thanks in advance!
