Is it worth upgrading from i7-2600 to i7-2600k?

Hi there, I've seen that I can basically sell my 2600 for around the same price that I can buy a 2600k for. Is there any point in this like will I be able to achieve significant improvement with an overclocked 2600k? My motherboard only supports 2nd and 3rd gen 1155 Intel processors so can't really upgrade past these two generations. Thanks!
