tl;dr: is waiting for i9-9900k and 2080ti over i7-8700k and 1080ti over next few months worth it for a new build that I want for 4k gaming to last next 5 years?
I'm upgrading my computer after nearly 6 years - finally got to the point where I can't play newer games even with lowered settings (currently on a i5-2600k and gtx 670)...
Looking for advice on whether I should pull the trigger:
Either a Z370/i-8700k or Z390/i-9900k mobo/cpu combo
Either 1080ti or 2080ti
Given the current shortages, is it truly worth waiting for the newer products? Looking at primary usage of gaming at 4K with a lifespan of at least the next 4-5 years.
