Laptop wireless card appears to be dead need solution.

So out of the blue unexpectedly and annoyingly it appears my wireless card has decided to die. Yay. This is already the second one. I don't feel like buying a new one seeing as my computer is a pain to get into. Can anyone recommend any external adapters that I can buy? Or some other solution.
