Post Body

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes. Specifically for this post.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Gaming and Blender. I'm semi competitive in world of tanks and a filthy casual in all others. I have some catching up to do so I'll be playing Witcher series, kingdom come, the division,... I started learning Blender last year and have really taken to this hobby.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

1140p at 144Hz

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

2000€ was max but it looks like I'll be blowing that.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Germany

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Provide any additional details you wish below.

I'm upgrading from a late 2009 iMac. Core i7 860. Anything I buy is a major improvement. For the best possible experience I chose to go the freesync route. That's why I don't want a gtx 10X0.

I want this machine to stay with me for as long as possible with upgrades to mobo/CPU/GPU if necessary. That's why I want to hit the sweet spot of high end performance - don't cheap out where high end parts bring significant performance gains and at the same time don't overpay for brand names.

Second concern is noise. I don't want a jet engine on my desk that's why I chose the le grand macho and the sapphire Vega.

I'm bringing over a wd red 1tb drive for mass storage I have lieing around.

Is there anything I could have picked better or cheaper?

  • Ram: Samsung b-die Vs dual rank?
  • SSD: ADATA - XPG SX8200 480GB Vs Samsung Evo 970?
  • Will the Ryzen 2700x render significantly faster than the Vega 64 or is GPU rendering an option and I can downgrade to a Ryzen 2600x for less power soconsumption and a smaller, cheaper cooler?

Thanks in advance!
