What is a decent desk mounted microphone that does not cost all of the dollars?

Im going to be splitting audio through two sets of headphones so my wife can be part of gaming, but the mic on my headset doesn't pick up her voice well.
Id prefer something that has a mute button at the base, and maybe a light that makes it really obvious if its on or not.
Up until now its been monitor speakers and the headset sitting on the desk with the mic between us, which hasnt worked well.
