Trouble with replacing motherboard+cpu

Old parts list I bought all the parts on this list and assembled them about 1.5 years ago.

Attempted parts list

So I recently tried to upgrade my cpu, replacing my i5-6500 with an i7-7700k, however, when I installed it I had the problem that it wouldn't boot. I ended up getting some technical help, and the problem was that my motherboard at the time (MSI-H110 Pro-VD Micro ATX LGA1151) wasn't actually compatible with the new cpu, despite being listed as OK on pcpartpicker.

So I ended up buying a new motherboard(Asus Z170-A ATX), and I installed it just two days ago. However, when I did that, when I tried to turn it on, during POST a led labeled DRAM LED(DDR4 RAM LED) flashed on and the motherboard kept beeping. The motherboard's manual indicated that this was because the motherboard thought there was something wrong with the RAM(Crucial 2x8GB DDR4-2133), I tried reinstalling the RAM, and used a feature called MemOK where the motherboard tries to reconcile the problems with the RAM, but it was to no avail.

I ended up deciding that the best decision would be to get new RAM, as in the motherboard's manual, it listed various types of RAM that were compatible, and my RAM at the time was not listed. So I bought two new sticks of RAM(Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 3000) that were explicitly listed as compatible with the motherboard in the manual, however when they arrived today and I installed them, I got the same problem.

Help?

Note-Despite the fact that my case and new fan(Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo) are listed as incompatible in pcpartpicker, the fan appears to work and fit just fine.
