Headphones for gaming

So right now i currently have astro a40s as my headsets, and they're starting to fall apart. I was going to buy another gaming headset, but i just found out that i can get regular headphones and a mic for better quality. so i was looking around and im thinking about getting the Beyerdynamic DT 880, a modmic, and FiiO E10K USB DAC. $300 is my price limit (little over is fine). Im just seeing if this is good enough. I really want amazing sound quality
