Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Gaming (The highest spec game I can see myself going to run is Monster Hunter World), running VMs, some light multiplayer servers (Don't starve, Terraria, maybe minecraft), and maybe some light software development.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

At least consistent 60fps is my main goal. I would like to get 4k, but I don't even have a monitor for that yet. Would like to run most games on medium or high settings.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

$2K, can go higher for a monitor too.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

U.S.A.

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Provide any additional details you wish below.

  • I am thinking kind of a more portable build, so I was considering trying to get a Micro ATX, however I am kind of apprehensive to do this since this is my first time actually building one from scratch, and that I've heard Micros have a whole ton of more issues with having to get special connectors.

  • I have not selected a monitor yet, as I'm hoping some come on sale for Black Friday.

  • Peripherals would include a wireless card, as I have a keyboard and mouse already.

  • I've been told that the case comes with cooler fans, but after reading product pages I can't find any case of that.

  • I think a 450W PSU will suit my needs, but all the 450W ones available on PCPartPicker seem to be more expensive than the 650W one.

  • I don't plan on overclocking.
