So I want a small upgrade to my GTX 970 (also because by now it's loud as fuck) that'll last me until Volta comes out next year.
I know they perform quite similarly, but it seems the 980 still has a slight edge in some games but it's an old arc and consumes more power.
I could get an MSI or Palit 980 at around 220€ used while the 1060 costs about 300€ new (there aren't a lot of used ones and they usually are around 250€).
So what do you guys think? I'm leaning towards the 980, because I can get it cheaper and it looks like the slightly better step from my 970.
Another thing to consider is might the prices for either drop with the 1080 Ti and later on with Vega? I don't think so, it will affect the higher end like 1080 and 1070 but not the used 980s and the 1060. What do you think?
