Post Body

I think I may have jumped the gun and posted to the wrong subreddit originally.. oops. lol

Hello! My name is "hi im twit" or "Twit" whichever you'd prefer and I'm in the process of upgrading my rig. A little info about me and why I'm upgrading: I'm a YouTube content creator and a full time Twitch streamer and I'm looking for the BEST PC build I can possibly get for my money. I was planning to grab an i7 6900k because I recently upgraded FROM an i7 4790k to an i7 6700k and the 6700k still just isn't cutting it.

  • The idea for this PC is that I want to be able to record, stream, and render with NO loss in processing power. Not that I would necessarily need to do all 3 at the same time (but that wouldn't be a bad thing if I could, I know my friend has a super computer that can do that) but at the minimum I want to be able to play virtually any game I choose without worrying about my CPU maxing out and lagging my entire PC, dropping frames etc.

  • More about my current rig: I currently have a 980Ti for the GPU, 16g of Corsair Vengance DDR4 RAM, the massive MasterAir Maker 8, and a Fractal Design Arch XL ATX full tower case to house it all.

Now, on to the parts I'm looking to buy.

  • Essentially what I'm planning to purchase is an i7 6900k @ 3.2GHz 8 Core CPU, the NZXT Kraken x61 Liquid Cooler, and an MSI X99A Gaming Pro Carbon ATX LGA2011-3 Mobo, and I'll also be running Windows 10 Pro.

  • My question is: With this CPU & Mobo, is it the power that I'm looking for? The only CPU that I could find that was better was a 6950x for $1600 on its own and an extremely expensive Intel Xeon. Both a little out of the price range since I'm planning to use this $1600 for both the CPU & Mobo/Watercooling.

OK OK OK, before you get onto me about custom cooling, that is a plan for down the road, but I don't have the funds to drop $6-700 on a custom kit right now (hopefully 2017 is nice to me and I can by the end of the year) but until then, the NZXT Kraken looks like my best choice for a good price. I previous owned two different Corsair H100i's and they both crapped out on me, so I've decided to stay away from them in this upgrade/build.

So that's about everything I can think of for info on this PC, I'm REALLY in need of some sound advice when it comes to this build because I'm usually plagued w/ PC problems and I'm beyond frustrated to the point of spending this much money for just a few parts to upgrade. Which is essentially the core of the PC. Let me know your thoughts, and if there is any more info that you'd need I'd be happy to add onto this in case I've missed something.

Thanks in advanced!!
