Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
I've read a fair bit of the sidebar but after doing so I talked to some tech savy friends and they started to give conflicting advice, particularly about the motherboard. One told me that the most important components of a PC is the CPU and GPU and everything else should be bought cheaply but another told me that since everything is connected to the motherboard, I shouldn't skimp on it.
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Mostly gaming and schoolwork.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)
Medium-High, 60 FPS, 1920 x 1080
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
800ish
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
US
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).
Right now not completely sure on anything but the basics are plan on grabbing a 1 tb HDD, a SDD on a later date, rx 480 for the graphics card, ddr4 2400 2x8 RAM but I'm being told to wait until february when AMD and Intel are releasing new processors and prices will drop? Still on the fence about a lot of things.
Provide any additional details you wish below.
Planning on buying a power supply, HDD, RAM and a case tomorrow and picking the rest up at a micro center in february.
NOTE: You do not have to follow this format, but please be sure to answer these questions. Please do not ask to simply be given a build. You are welcome to delete this section.
