Is My Mouse Dying, or Just needs Cleaning?

Is my mouse dying? It happens very often now, but a single click counts as a double click a lot of the times, and when I try to click and drag, it sometimes doesn't even work. It just thinks I'm double clicking or something and proceeds to open up the file or w/e I am doing. Is it nearing the end, or is it just maybe dirty or something?
