I was having an issue with a build and decided to remove and re-set the processor. It had only been attached to the heatsink, maybe, a few minutes when I did it and the thermal paste was still wet. I put it back on, booted it up, and kept an eye on the temps - they seem fine.
Will I see any long-term problems with this?
Right now, under 50-100% load, my i7 6700k is hitting about 45 degrees c at most in one core. The rest are hovering around 30.
I'm just being lazy, at this moment, because I've been taking apart and putting together computers all day and don't want to use the last of my thermal paste, but if what I did now isn't functionally different than wiping it off and reapplying, i figure I could save my time.
Thanks!
