Looking for general feedback, recommendations, etc.
Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
- Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
This PC will be used for modern AAA games (see below) and Virtual Reality gaming with a Vive.
Games such as Call of Duty, Battlefront, Battlefield, Fallout, Batman, Witcher 3, Assassins Creed, CSGO, etc.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)
- I would like to be able to get 1080p/60 fps on most games. From what I understand, the build I have put together so far should do this and also meet the requirements for using the Vive.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
Looking to stay around $750. I have already blown my initial budget, so trying to keep down costs as much as possible.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Maryland, USA. I do have access to 2 micro center locations.
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

I'll be buying my video card when there is enough information to compare the RX 480 and GTX 1060 against each other and between manufacturers. Right now I am leaning towards the 8GB Sapphire RX 480.
I have been very conflicted about motherboards. Because I have access to microcenter, I can take advantage of the Intel motherboard bundles. All the qualifying motherboards seem to be pretty expensive, but the Asus Z170-E bundle would only tack on $5. Is the Z170-E a clearly better option? I do like the that the one in my build right now is Micro-ATX, so if there is no significant difference, I will stay with MSI B150M Mortar. OTOH, I could just go as cheap as possible with the motherboard and try and get one around $50-$60.
I was debating between the i5 6500 and 6400. If the 6400 is not too far off, I would be happy to save $20 on it.
I could use some recommendations on a good-value monitor.
