Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Mostly Gaming. I will also watch movies, browse, use office applications etc. But it should be configured for gaming. I am sure if its performance is good enough for that, it will be able to handle everything else I am doing regularly.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)
It should be able to play AAA titles on maximum settings with 60 FPS. I am only using a 1080p monitor. But I am planning to upgrade to 1440p or even 4k(unlikely). It should perform well in VR, which was the main reason for choosing the gtx1080.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
1500€-1800€
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Germany

Provide any additional details you wish below.
I haven´t built a pc for quite some time (10 years), which is why I am not overly confident about my choices. This build is meant to be somewhat futureproof, while also being price/performance conscious.
The cpu has been chosen, because it delivers great results for gaming and the 1151 socket will see two more cpu “generations”, which will give me the possibility to upgrade should the necessity arise. The cooler should make overclocking possible.
The gpu should deliver great performance, especially in VR. I am not planning on buying the gtx 1080 FE, but I will wait a few weeks for the EVGA gtx 1080 ftw or confidential, but am willing to consider any non-reference card.
I chose the mobo, because it has the z170 and I have read a few positive reviews. This is also true for storage and ram.
I am thankful for any suggestions or opinions. Especially PSU, mobo and ram I am uncertain about. Does the whole package make sense? Are there any major problems with this build and what could or should I change? Is there any room for major performance improvements or reductions in cost?
A big thank you to everyone who is willing to help!!!!!!!
