Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Primarily gaming.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

I'm just looking for performance. I don't care if I have to lower graphics settings to the absolute minimum.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

~1000 USD or so.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

US

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Provide any additional details you wish below.

This is my first time building a PC. I'm not planning to OC for the foreseeable future.

Questions

  • Is it worth swapping out the CPU/mobo to be ddr4 compatible? I'm trying to go a pretty long time without upgrading so I wasn't sure if I should build with ddr4 in mind. Any idea on the mileage I would get with ddr3 vs ddr4?

  • Any other thoughts/opinions/things I should consider about the currently selected motherboard?

  • Is there anything else that stands out or seems to pose a problem?

Thanks for your help.
