I'm serious about buying an SSD for my laptop and I want my purchase to be future-proof. I intend to build my own PC in a few years and I was wondering if the M.2 form factor is better than the SATA form factor. Its understandable that M.2 is preferable in laptops (M.2 is much smaller), but is there any reason to worry that SATA will be phased out by M.2 in desktops?
