I am looking into possibly upgrading my RAM and as I was checking what my Motherboard and CPU can handle I got a bit confused.
The Motherboard can handle up to 3333MHz OC DDR4 RAM and 2400 MHz non OC DDR4 RAM. So could I theoretically put in RAM that runs at 3333 MHz stock speed?
Secondly as I read through the specs of the CPU it said it could handle DDR4 RAM up to 2133 MHz. Does that mean that it may run with faster RAM but Intel only guarantees that the CPU works fine with RAM up to that speed?
My parts are:
Zotac GTX 980 AMP! Extreme Edition
MSI X99S SLI Plus
Intel i7 5930K
Be quiet Pure rock 130W TDP CPU fan
Xilence 1000W Modular 80Plus PSU
Crucial 8GB 2133MHz DDR4 RAM x2
Crucial M550 SSD
Western digital 4 TB HDD Black (WDC WD4000FYYZ-01UL1B1)
