Is DDR4 RAM useful for gaming, or unhelpful overkill?
Post Body
Bringing my PC up to snuff, needs new motherboard, processor, and monitor still.
I'm playing Star Citizen, Skyrim, and Fallout mostly. Star Citizen really wants more CPU than I can give, and my old AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black doesn't overclock well anymore, even with water cooling.
PowerColor 390x "Devil" with watercooling. SLI will come after purchasing a new Motherboard and CPU.
Looking at going full retard with a new Intel chip and DDR4 RAM. Is there a good reason to not go this route?
EDIT: Looks like the question has changed, I had no idea how much knowledge I didnt have. My next motherboard will be DDR4, now I am comparing the 6700k to the 5930k.
