Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes.
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Gaming (Mainly gaming. I don't plan on streaming but video editing might be something I do. My main focus though is definitely gaming. (Hence the i5)).
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)
1080p/1440p 60fps with ultra settings (or whatever the GTX 980 Ti chipset can provide, as to my knowledge it is one of the best chipsets for GPUs on the market currently).
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
CAD $2000
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Canada (Unless it is more beneficial to purchase from the U.S. and ship across the border for some reason?)
Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
Provide any additional details you wish below.
I appreciate all help and pointer tips toward my build. I feel like I might be missing something. Please point out suggestions for better bang:buck ratios and such. I wouldn't mind switching up the case. I'm looking for a black and red highlight or a black and light blue highlight for my case design. If there is compatibility issues unbeknownst to pcpartbuilder please mention, as I'm unfamiliar with it's reliability. I mainly worry about somehow this setup being incompatible or something. While doing research, I saw a guy using a closed water cpu cooler and since he was using one, he had to use 90% Isopropyl solution to remove the thermal paste already installed on his intel CPU. Will I have to do the same? Is the case I'm using sufficient for space, or just plain garbage? Etc. Thank you, seriously, for helping me out with my build. The world of building computers is daunting and confusing.
