Hey BaPC,
My reliable, venerable G5 mouse is finally giving up the ghost. Unfortunately, Logitech has discontinued it and its two successors (G500, G500s) in the time it took for my G5 to wear out, and the G502 is just too ridiculous looking for me to use with a straight face.
Does anyone know of any mice with a similar form factor? I also want something I don't have to hide when I have company over (read: doesn't look like a goddamn transformer), and I simply can't seem to find anything that fits well.
As far as hardline requirements go, here's the short list:
- Minor ergonomic slant, no more than 30 degree tilt.
- Tactile response scroll wheel.
- Tilting scroll wheel.
- Minimum of two thumb buttons.
- Not too concerned with DPI, but absolutely can not have onboard acceleration.
- Has to track on matte black.
- Preferably wired (because I forget to charge things).
I honestly don't know who else is big with mice these days except Logitech and Razer. Most of Razer's stuff looks too 'gamer' for me. Some of Microsoft's stuff would actually be a nice option for my needs, but I've heard less than great things about their craftsmanship.
Any suggestions for a picky user like myself?
