A few weeks after I posted to reddit about how I could best build a PC while blind! I took the leap and just did it ("Just Do It" is a helpful little slogan when facing new challenges).

Tips for how to build while blind.
- Lining up the motherboard with the pegs in the case is ALWAYS a challenge. To make it easier I shoved paper clips through the mount holds on the mobo. Then, putting the mother board into the case, I was able to quickly find the corresponding holes in the case by feeling for paper clips. This also helps when trying to screw the mother board into the case.
*CPU orientation was not a problem at all, the CPU only fits one way, so after rotating twice it quickly fit in.
*MOBO jumpers. THE BANE of my existence. I used a handheld portable digital magnifier (a RUBY) to take a picture of the jumper configuration. It was all a matter of feeling the jumpers and referencing the orientation.
All in all, it was still pretty easy to build a PC while blind. The most time consuming part of the entire build was figuring out why my WIN7 wouldn't load off a USB disk (you have to do a funky, remove disk, reinsert disk procedure). That or talking with microsoft for hours to get my license validated (I got a free copy of Windows 7 for hosting a Win7 launch event ~4 years ago).
I've been happily coding away, today i just batch encoded 20 AVHCD videos to MP4s (for a wedding I attended). the 16 GB ram and new video card work wonders!
