Above is my current part list (I have not yet ordered the Processor, but that is the planned purchase).
I have a Microcenter near me, and was planning to walk in and ask advice about a motherboard to bundle with the CPU. Unfortunately they are out of stock of the i5-4670K, so that blows that plan out of the water.
I can get the CPU standalone from Amazon for $209 (after 5% back from my CC).
That leaves me in need of a MOBO and storage.
For the MOBO, I was going to go with the Z87-G41 or Z87-Extreme4 that microcenter normally bundles with, as it saves me quite a bit. But I can't seem to find any reliable reviews of these boards. Is the extreme significantly better, or are there better options out there? Also, does anyone have any experience with how long it will take MC to restock the i5? Should I wait, or just bite the bullet and get elsewhere?
As far as storage goes, I was really leaning toward a 256 GB SSD, as I currently have a 128 GB in my laptop and I feel exceedingly cramped. Any recommendations?
I'd like to keep the entire build under $800 (under $700, preferably) if possible.
Thanks for any advice!
