Should I get a new motherboard or a new CPU? (bought mismatching)

Post Body

Earlier this year I bought a baseline PC with plans to upgrade as I go. This week I bought a new AMD 7950X CPU because I read a lot of good reviews for it. The issue is I misread the specs on my PC and didn't realize it has a B760 mother board (the motherboard depended on what CPU came with the computer and I misread the Specs section when I was checking compatibility) so it won't take AMD CPUs only Intel. I can still return it and was considering buying an I7 14700K, but keep reading mixed reviews on if Intel fixed the issues with their new CPUs. So my ultimate question is should I return my AMD and get the I7, or keep the AMD CPU and replace my motherboard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
