From all the reading I've done the consensus is mechanical is the way to go! I will game a lot on the PC but will be using it for work and typing too, I've heard cherry red or brown is ideal for this. No real budget, I want a keyboard that will last and is great quality.
Here's some I have found (although please feel free to suggest others):
ducky shine 2 [brown or red] (the glossy texture might be a deal breaker, in addition to the lack of extra programmable buttons and such)
corsair k95 [red] (leaning towards this as it's aesthetically very nice with good functionality)
logitech g710 [brown]
cm storm quickfire [red]
Razer Blackwidow
Also what is the verdict on the Logitech g19s? It's not mechanical so I'm guessing I shouldn't even consider it.
