Can i combine 7-8 dell desktop pcs to make a multicore server with high end computer-processing abilities?

I cheaply (for about 100 bucks), came across 7-8 Dell Desktop pcs, each about 1.8-2.4 ghz processors, about 1-2 gigs of ram each, and multiple model numbers.
At my office there is a server that has 9 CPUs attached, 13 gigs of gram, and a very large amount of storage. Is there any way i can virtually create a system that is as functional as the one at my office with the computers i've come into? If there are any more details to achieve the goal, just request. All help greatly appreciated!
