Hey everyone and thanks for what you do. I've been reading this sub every day for a couple months, back from when I started thinking about having a pc again and building my own. My last pc was an iBuyPower i5 from 2016 and it got handed down to my little brother quite some time ago. I'm in a position now to where I can have some really top-end stuff, and I've learned a lot from this sub. Here's what I've already bought so far:
4090 Suprim X Corsair AX1600i 1600w PSU Samsung 990 Pro 4tb
I'm waiting until the end of September for the 9000d case. I'm also waiting for more reviews of the newest amd CPUs before settling on the 7950x3d. I was looking at x670e mobo, but I think the x870e is right around the corner, and those USB 4.0 would be nice to have. I can't really get the RAM because it depends on the memory controller and I'm still unsure if it's on the CPU or Mobo. As far as CPU coolers go, I really like what IceGiant is doing.
My plan is to go completely overkill and load up that big ass case with a ton of airflow. I'll be gaming for sure. I know how this sub is about the 7800x3d, but I'd like to have the option of productivity as well.
Here are my questions:
What's the deal with splitting up certain things on different storage drives?
Thoughts on delidding? Will it depend on if the cooler is an AIO or air?
Is there still an issue between the GPU and PSU and having to use an adapter?
What are some of the first things I should do after I complete the build, such as BIOS settings, etc.?
Any general tips and tricks to get this thing running clean and speedy?
Thanks again for teaching me!
