Title says it all. I'm looking to put together a $500 PC for my niece. For simplicity, the ONLY thing this PC will need to do is run Fortnite as well as possible.
Even just a solid CPU/GPU recommendation would be helpful, and I can fill in the rest.
It's been a long time since I've had to delve into a budget build, and most of my research has been inconclusive with 2 or 3 people arguing about random things. I don't play fortnite so I have zero idea how to best leverage the game with budget hardware.
Edit: wow guys, thanks everyone for the input. Never expected this many replies. I read all of them, thank you!
$500 is going to be absolute bottom-of-the-barrel or used components, and if all your niece is doing is gaming, a console probably offers a superior value equation. A Series X or PS5 will absolutely annihilate most PCs below $1000 in terms of raw gaming performance.

I'd have to see a list to believe that you can get parts for a PC for less than $400 that can outperform a Series X or a PS5. That just strikes me as extraordinarily unlikely unless you're talking about used components, and that's not a fair comparison when I can go buy a used PS5 off of Craigslist for $300 or less.
