Unsure on upgrade options from 1080Ti. NVIDIA or AMD?

Hey all, so after quite a few years, the rig needs new cooling so I've decided it's a good time to change the GPU as well, seeing as it's getting dated.

However, I'm unsure what's an upgrade from the 1080Ti, as a lot of people say the 1080Ti is still good/relevant.

What 20, 30 or 40 series card is the 1080Ti equivalent to? And what would be my options with AMD?

I'm on the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, so with that in mind, is an AMD GPU better? Is my CPU the bottleneck?
