Post Body

Hey redditors - quick question I’m hoping you could provide some insight for me on.

I bought a pre built gaming pc from Micro Center back in 2021. It was almost the top tier model. Had the 3080 TI GPU.

Last night the GPU blew or failed while I was playing warzone. It made a sound, the monitors turned off, and there was a loud fan sound coming from the computer.

Took it to MC this morning, it’s still under the 3 yr extended warranty until November. They replaced the GPU with a 4070 (they don't carry 3080 TI anymore). I quickly googled performance of 3080 TI vs 4070 and I felt like I was getting ripped off a bit. Seemed like FPS tests had the 3080 TI performing better. I shared my concern and they offered to swap it out to a 4070 TI which they said was more comparable to the 3080 TI.

My question to you is, what in your eyes is the most comparable model for my 3080 TI to be replaced with? Do you think it should be the 4080 S ? Or is the 4070 TI the proper replacement?

Thanks in advance,
