Assuming there was not a huge price gap why would you get the Ryzen 7 over the Ryzen 9? I know the R7 is better for games, even if it is by a little, and it does so with less cores and threads. What would the extra cores and threads be useful for? Is it literally only for editing stuff or rendering, whatever that is? Sorry if I sound very noob esque all I know is that gamers should by the 5 and 7 series of processors for gaming, but I also would like to build a really nice PC which is why I would even consider the R9 over the R7 even though for games it is kind of pointless. Maybe the R9 is better to be an all in one gaming and streaming PC? Lastly, to clear up where my confusion is, I know that tech youtubers say a 6 core cpu is better in the long run than a 4 core cpu, and now R7 is 8 but R9 is 12 or 16 cores, so obviously better in the long run, right? I may not be the target audience for such a cpu though, huh? I'm probably better off getting an R7 with DDR5 Ram, 4 sticks, and an M.2 SSD, huh? Thank you sorry for the long rant. I am in the market to build a new PC and with games only getting better performance on the higher end like 1440p or 4k I think it is time I build one I will keep for a while since I may do 1440p but definitely not 4k. My previous PCs were as follows: Compaq Presario, AMD fx-6300, AMD R5 1600, and currently, an i7 8700k build. Ryzen is the better route IMO currently and I am only considering the best of the best which are the 7950X3D or 7800X3D.
