Here's my original post asking for compatible SSD upgrade and I opened my laptop today to check the available SSD slot. Here's the pic. Judging from the SSD on the other slot (Micron SSD 512GB 2210), the other slot can fit an M.2 2280 right?
From Lenovo's specification refence, here's the Storage and Storage Slots for my laptop model:
- Storage
- 512GB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe® 3.0x4 NVMe®
- Storage Support - RTX 3060 models: up to two drives, 2x M.2 SSD
- M.2 2242 SSD up to 512GB
- M.2 2280 SSD up to 1TB
I'm assuming that it's the mentioned M.2 2280 SSD in the Storage Support. I'm currently planning to buy Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN580 NVMe Internal Solid State Drive SSD - Gen4 x4 PCIe 16Gb/s, M.2 2280, Up to 4,150 MB/s - WDS100T3B0E. This will work on my laptop right?
Also, from other threads of Ideapad Gaming 3, others have tried upgrading to 2TB despite the 1TB recommendation (in the specification reference there was a note saying "The storage capacity supported is based on test results with current Lenovo storage offerings". If it's fine, I'm planning to buy Crucial P3 Plus 2TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 5000MB/s - CT2000P3PSSD8 instead.
