I'm planning to add storage as I always need to delete files with my current storage (512gb). I haven't found extra details as to what my current storage is, just that:
- It's 512gb
- It's an NVME M.2 one
My problem is that my laptop allows expansion for 2 types. Here's the details from Lenovo's spec sheet (https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/IdeaPad/IdeaPad_Gaming_3_15ACH6?M=82K20037PH) :
- RTX 3060 models: up to two drives, 2x M.2 SSD
- M.2 2242 SSD up to 512GB
- M.2 2280 SSD up to 1TB
- Storage Slot
- RTX 3060 models: two M.2 2280 PCIe® 3.0 x4 slots
I know that just by opening the back of the laptop I'll get to know it, but I'm not really techy and afraid that I'll do something wrong.
Just want to ask if someone here also has the same model and knows if
- the storage the laptop has initially is the 2242 one or the 2280
- If it is the 2242, then I'm planning to buy WD Black 2TB SN 770 NVMe - Gen 4 PCIE M.2 2280. This can work in my laptop right? (just double checking lol, but from previous threads I've already seen others using a 2TB expansion).
- For those who have upgraded to 2TB, how was it? Still skeptical as the specs sheet says that 1TB is the optimal one.
Thank you!
