Hi there, I’m getting older and I’ve not kept up well with pc gaming systems. My son is almost impossible to shop for gift-wise. He is a gamer and loves Roblox and programming within that environment as well as other graphics-related games. He currently has a SkyTech Blaze II I got him in 2020. It has Ryzen 5 2600 6-core 3.4 GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6G, 500GB SSD, and 32GB DDR RAM running windows 10.
I don’t think he necessarily needs a whole new computer, but he said his computer seems to be slowing down, and he says he said he gets random blue screens. He’s pretty tech savvy, so I imagine he knows the proper windows maintenance things to do.
He seems to think a GPU upgrade might help, so I’ve thought about getting him a new GPU for Christmas, but I’m not sure if the fact his current system is PCI-e 3 and the newer GPU’s are version 4 of PCI-e is going to limit the benefit of any upgrades in that department.
TLDR: what is a good upgrade to the SkyTech Blaze II with the GTX 1660 Ti without buying a whole new PC?
