So my current build is this: i5-7500 (stock Intel cooler fan) GTX 1070 (Broken now) 16GB DDR4 RAM 1TB SSD 2TB HDD
I built this all back in 2017.
As the list mentioned above, my GPU has died. It's a long story but I took it somewhere to get fixed and they confirmed that my GPU has pretty much died.
So now I'm faced with the choice of either buying a new GPU or building a new PC all together. I've been thinking about building a new PC for a while now and I want to go crazy on my next build. However, I want to get ample advice and do thorough research before I go and throw $4000-$5000 on a new set-up.
This is what I want from my pc. I want to be able to play at 1440p with no issues on new games for the next 5-10 years. If I'm being completely honest I was a little disappointed with my current build as even when I first built it, it wouldn't run games that well after 1-2 years. I am also a pilot (only just started) and use flight sim quite a bit. My current set up could run MSFS2020 at about 30-40fps on low settings which kinda sucked but I also want to try and get into VR to make it more immersive as the sims really do help me with my flying.
What should I do?
imo I don't see the point in buying a new gpu now if I'm inevitably going to build a new PC unless it really lasts me another good few years and will be able to do what I want to do.
I've done a very rough new build on pcpartpicker and have chosen a 4090, Ryzen 7800X3D (with either an AIO or fan would also like advice on this), and 32GB DDR5 RAM, with a 2TB M.2 SSD.
Any advice is much appreciated in advance.
