Building New PC: Works with HDMI/DP plugged into GPU but GPU doesn't show in device manager

Post Body

I am completing my first ever build with components from Micro Center (classic). I can connect the computer to my monitor using the display port or hdmi ports on the GPU itself but the GPU itself is not detected. It lights up and the fans are on. I am able to log into Windows where I updated drivers and updated BIOS for motherboard to latest version. I did also download Gigabyte drivers/utility from their website but it says it cannot detect any Gigabyte products. I am typing this post from the computer so it kind of works..?!

Any suggestions on why I cannot detect my GPU but can boot into windows using its video ports? Appreciate any assistance, thank you!
