A bit of background: I've had a Lepa B850 for over 10 years now, and it's been more than enough to power my PC builds and upgrades over the years. In all that time, I've always used the 6-pin connection on the PSU, and connected that to either 6-pin or 8(6 2)-pin connections on the GPU.
A couple weeks ago, I did another big upgrade to my PC (including a new 7900 XTX). It was working fine for all the games I was playing until the new Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update. It mostly works fine, but very occasionally (3 times in ~10 hours of play), I'll get a full power shutdown, usually when moving out of menus.
My guess is that the issue is related to the PSU-GPU connection and high power load spikes. Is it time for me to upgrade fully to 8-pin to 8-pin power connections? Would that solve my issues? Or is it more likely that I need to replace the PSU completely in favor of one capable of higher power output?
