Some notes:
I'm trying to stay under $2k, but if it goes over a little, that's fine.
I'm not super concerned about using the motherboard hyper-efficiently (e.g. all 4 RAM slots), I'm more concerned with having a motherboard that's future proof, since it's kind of the backbone of the entire build, that way I can easily remove the CPU GPU and upgrade if I want to in the future, and have plenty of room for extra RAM, SSD expansion, and so on.
- Or at least that was the idea, but if that's a stupid idea, feel free to let me know, haha.
I have no clue what I'm doing for the case, the PSU, and the CPU cooler. I've seen the tier lists per this post and read a few of the beginner guides, but they're still pretty confusing, especially the "S-tier/A-tier isn't necessary, C-tier is sometimes fine" caveats.
- A friend is telling me "heatsink bad" and I should go with a different type of cooler - radiator perhaps? Thoughts? Peerless Assassin just seems to have great reviews, which is why I picked it.
Anything else I should think about including with all of this that isn't part of the meat of the build? I have a monitor, sound system, etc.
I couldn't give two squirts about RGB stuff. In fact it kind of hurts my eyes, especially if the room is dark. I don't mind a bit of it, but I'd prefer no fully RGB-kitted out towers. :)
