Definitely looking to upgrade soonish, as the RX 480 I bought used is showing its age, and seems to be dying. Not in the market for a new one right now, but thinking ahead so I can start looking and maybe snag some new and better parts when they’re on sale.
Current build has a Ryzen 5 2600, Rx 480, Aorus X470 Gaming 7, 2x8gb RAM 3200mHz, and a 550W PSU (Bit of a weird build tbh but it works)
Assuming I’m not tweaking or changing any other parts, what are some low to mid end GPUs/CPUs that would fit well into this build? I’m planning to only use this for 1080p and I’m perfectly content with setting game graphics to low as necessary.
Mainly looking for GPU suggestions but I’m curious as to what CPUs would work here? I know there’s been a good number of AM4 cpus released since I built this, but I also know they’ve released new mobo types as well that are AM4 socket. Are these newer boards “necessary” for the newer CPUs or will mine be fine for some?
