Black screens and dying gpu

Post Body

I’m currently experiencing an issue where my screens will either just go black on startup or at a random point of the day , I use my rig primarily for gaming , running an older gpu (Gtx 970), I took it into a repair shop to see if they could resolve the issue , they have said that they were able to bench and play games etc without issue and once getting it back I was able to play for an evening with the issue coming back then next time I started up my pc , when plugging in my vga directly to the MOBO the screen gets signal with no issue , I’m still trying to learn all about PCs from building to maintaining and this has me completely stumped , I’m in the process of building a much better rig but it’s going to take time , do I try replace my current gpu with a cheaper one for the moment ? (I just need 4-6 months of workability) or do I just give up and look for an alternative?

I’ve tried different screens (3 of them) I’ve tried different cables I’ve tried different plug points I’ve also had the shop do a format and fresh windows install.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated !
