I’m going to build a new PC for Starfield, since my old 4690k and SLI 970s are dinosaurs now.
I have a budget of about 2K and have access to a Microcenter. I plan on gaming at 1440p but might upgrade to a 4K monitor in the future.
I’m thinking of the 13700k or 7700x bundles at Microcenter for $550 and $450 respectively. Is it worth the extra $100 or should I consider something else entirely like the 7800X3D
As for GPU I’m kinda stuck with Nvidia since I have a good, but old 144hz 1440p monitor that does not support freesync but does have Gsync (in fact it’s marketing was “ the first 1440p Gsync monitor”) a 4070 seems the logical fit, but I think I can get a 4070 ti under budget if I compromise on other components. I just hate to pay $800 for 12GB, and I’m afraid that won’t be enough in the future. Should I go AMD for more VRAM and maybe upgrade my monitor since it’s pretty old. If I did that It would still have to fit under the 2K budget, so my build would be significantly worse.
Thanks!
