Post Body

I'm about to purchase this setup as a full upgrade for my at home work station. I'm a 3D motion designer so need a good CPU and RAM for simulations and calculations, but rendering is GPU bound.

Below are my core components and my reasons for choosing them. Would really appreciate any input as I'm not that clued up on hardware. Budget is flexible, but I want good performance and value for money where possible.

Part Choice Reason
CPU Intel Core i7-13700K Best value for money according to CGDirector.
Cooler Noctua NH-D15 Slightly out edges the Peerless Assassin 120 but costs considerably more. Worth it?
Motherboard MSI MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI I want DDR5 to be future ready for upgrades. Good VRMs and Thunderbolt. Not knowledgeable on MOBOs so would appreciate insight.
RAM G.Skill Ripjaws S5 2x32GB DDR5-5600 CL28 Will upgrade to 128GB in the future.
GPU MSI Ventus 4080 Was going to go with the 4080 FE but Ventus has better cooling and is easier to deshroud if need be.
PSU be quiet! Straight Power 11 1000W 80 Plat Estimated wattage on PCPartPicker is ~750W. Currently have a 850W Gold that would fit, but want to be safe in terms of wattage and future upgrades.
Case Fractal Design Torrent Compact Initially I wanted to do a very SFF build with eGPU, however the overheads on eGPU wasn't worth it. I then considered an NR200P but I was worried about thermals so I've settled on a Torrent Compact as a mid point between form factor and thermals.
Fans Phanteks T30 x4 Expensive but really want good cooling.
