Intel Core i9-12900KS Thermal Throttling when playing Minecraft

Post Body

I'm not sure what I'm missing here. I ran Minecraft. Minecraft of all things with no mods and my fans kicked on into overdrive. Checked HWInfo and saw thermal throttling.

Build:

  • Processor: Intel Core i9-12900KS 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor
  • MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
  • Cooler: Asus ROG STRIX LC II 360 80.95 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  • GPU: Asus GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB TUF GAMING OC Video Card
  • PSU: Corsair HX Platinum 1200 W 80 Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX
  • Case: Fractal Design Define R6 USB-C ATK Mid Tower Case

More Details:

  • HWInfo information here
  • Ran Cinebench and had thermal throttling, score of 27481 points

What I've tried:

  • All Drivers are updated
  • BIOS is updated and Windows reinstalled
  • Turned off MultiCore Enhancement in BIOS and changed Windows Power Plan to 98% (based off this thread). Seemed to bring my CPU wattage to a peak of 240W.
  • Remounted the AIO

I've looked at this for a long time and I wanted a second opinion if anyone else has expertise on this issue. I'm not too well-versed in OCing and don't plan to. Saw some info about undervolting but I don't understand enough of it. Is there a way to stop my CPU from overheating? I'm not doing significant CPU intensive things. I'm not looking for crazy performance, just want it to work for regular things without stressing it.
