What kind of beetle is this

I have a couple ideas of what it might be but not totally sure. Shiny black about 1-1.5 in long . We have been having really hot temperatures and the last few nights we have had up to 5-6 of them hanging out on our concrete patio with all the earwigs trying to hangout near the water left from my kids slip n slide. In Cheney,WA Sorry for the pics not being the best my phone was in battery saver mode
