What bug is this? It just stung me.

I thought this was a harmless mosquito hawk, left it alone and forgot about it... Until I felt a sharp sting, it stuck it's stinger or mouth through my t-shirt on my back. It felt like I had to pull it away or out from stinging or biting me. Everything I've found says this wouldn't sting. If it's a mosquito it's HUGE 😱
