So it’d be an AU where Willow was unable to do the Slayer Activation spell and the world was plunged into darkness cause of the First Evil. All the characters died: Buffy, Faith, Willow, etc.

20 years later, a girl that has fighting in a post apocalyptic LA her entire life is considered a Potential and has been given a mission by Cordelia to go back in time and alter the events of history.

The girl travels throughout alternate worlds including one where Tara is alive and massively powerful like Willow was, but is in hiding due to persecution of witchcraft. The girl enlists Tara’s help to create a mystical portal and travel back in time to find a young Giles whose still doing chaos with Ethan Rayne (still unsure if he’s going to help or hinder the plot yet) and see if they are able to fulfill the girl’s mission. The girl also wants to pull Giles away from chaos and try to get him to become a Watcher.

In another alternate dimension, Anya is actually evil and is constantly pursuing the girl throughout the story, using her vengeance demons to stop the girl from changing events.
