I think there was an intentional shift in S4 to make it aware to the audience that this was no longer a high school show, which I appreciated. It morphed into S5 which was then upended by S6 into 7 where the group dynamic was essentially broken.

Was this an inevitable part of growing up and apart, or was there just too much trauma between everybody?
