I’m wondering if I’m in a minority here being a young male who enjoys the show. I know some people may say it’s girly show, but personally I enjoy watching really attractive females be badasses. I don’t find it girl at all tbh.

Just finished season 4

Good for you.

Yeah. There was a stigma attached to the show, back in the day, too.

The dominating demographic of the show is female, and it always has been. As a male, I didn't really care what anyone said.

It's one of the most important television shows.

I would stop browsing Reddit, though, as you'll see tons of spoilers. Finish the show and then come back. :)

Yeah. It's known that Joss lost creative control of the movie, so he couldn't really make the movie as dark (or like the show) that he wanted.

Nice. Good for you!

People who look down on BtVs are people who either judge the show by the name (and avoided it because of that reason) or they just plain haven't watched it.

Without giving anything away, it's a show of two parts:

Seasons 1-3: When it's set at school and the tone is set as rather light.

Season 4: Transitional season.

Seasons 5-7: After school and discovering life. So it gets darker and more mature.
